Of course, I tried to let Amazon know that they should modify the description to reflect that there is not a cable but that was like talking to a brick wall. You need to add one to your order if you don't already have one. Not the best deal available on this drive online but not too bad. Of course, as the first person to comment said, the SATA cable is NOT included.
This has cost me extra money and time. So I have sent it back. First off the product came with no cables and when I purchased this item it did not in any way alude to the fact there was NO CABLES. SO after seaching out the correct cables and waiting another week, the item would not engage or come on.
I don't use the lightscribe feature much, but nice to have it available.I have always had good experience with Sony products, and this one is no exception.Highly recommended. Very easy to install in my new DELL studio computer. Instantly recognized by Vista when I booted the computer.Flawless burning, quiet, fast performance.
I called Sony just to see what they would do and they replaced it ONLY because I purchased retail.I'd recommend this unit. My last Sony DVD burner, which is quite old now, broke down after 1 year. It's fast and pretty quiet except for the first 10 seconds when a CD is inserted.I wish they would make a slot drive, though. While it's true you could get this OEM for much less, I prefer buying retail for DVD burners. I chose Sony because their customer service is great st honoring repairs.
